Melissa Turiano
Melissa holds degrees in both art education and art therapy, bringing this experience into her work with individuals of all ages. Her approach has been shaped by her previous years as a middle school art teacher, as well as leading art classes and creative workshops in community centers for older adults, summer camps, and other creative spaces.
Melissa incorporates therapeutic art techniques to create an inclusive, low-pressure environment where participants can explore art freely, reconnect with imagination and play, and build confidence through creative expression. She works in a wide range of mediums- including clay, painting, collage, drawing, and jewelry making- and strives to bring a sense of calm, curiosity, and connection to every creative space she leads.

Melissa facilitates art journaling and polymer clay workshops at Charlie's Place.
