Matt Iorio, LMSW
As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), I prioritize meeting each client where they are at. I enjoy taking the time to get to know my clients and their unique lived experiences, understanding that they are more than just a symptom or set of circumstances. I pride myself in utilizing a trauma-informed, culturally competent approach that is warm, open, and non-judgmental. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment for those that I work with, and to foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust and compassion.

When working with me, we will tailor treatment to your specific needs and goals. I utilize an eclectic mix of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I often work with clients on concerns regarding anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, interpersonal conflict, relationships, life transitions, and change. I take special interest in identifying and changing thinking/behavioral patterns, processing emotions, and exploring identity and existential themes.

Previous to joining Path Forward, I worked in outpatient community mental health, where I provided individual therapy to people aged 18+, from a wide variety of backgrounds with varied diagnoses. I also have experience working with students in a college wellness center and high school counseling/social work department.
Before joining the mental health world, I received my bachelors in Journalism and Communication from St. John Fisher University, and spent time working in procurement, recruiting, and freelance writing. After I felt the power of opening up and reaching out for help firsthand, I realized I wanted to help others enact positive change in their lives as well. I then earned my Master of Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan University, concentrating in mental health, and began my journey of helping others.

All are welcome to work with me! I am LGBTQ+ allied and truly enjoy working with people from all walks of life. At the end of the day we’re all human, so let’s be human together. Whether we’re changing behavioral patterns, learning skills, finding support, or simply processing the unprocessed, I’d love to be a part of your journey.
