Don Boice, LCSW-R

Don will be joining our team on August 1st, 2026.

Don Boice, LCSW-R is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and relationship specialist with more than 35 years of experience helping couples build stronger, healthier relationships. He has dedicated his career to working with couples because he believes relationships deserve specialized expertise—not a generalist approach.
Don's philosophy is simple: therapy should produce measurable change. Couples seek counseling because they want their relationship to improve, not because they want to become dependent on weekly therapy. His structured, research-informed approach helps couples create meaningful progress early in treatment while teaching practical skills they can continue using long after counseling has ended.
Sessions focus on identifying the patterns that keep couples stuck, developing healthier communication, resolving conflict respectfully, rebuilding trust, strengthening emotional and physical intimacy, and creating practical systems that support lasting change. Through exercises, feedback loops, regular progress evaluations, and between-session practice, couples learn how to recognize when they are getting off track and how to repair their relationship without relying on their therapist.
One of the hallmarks of Don's practice is creating an environment where both partners feel equally welcome, respected, and heard. Recognizing that many men are hesitant to attend couples counseling, he intentionally structures sessions to be balanced and engaging for both members of the relationship. His goal is not to side with either partner, but to help protect and strengthen the relationship itself.
Clients appreciate Don's direct, respectful, and practical style. Rather than simply discussing problems, he helps couples develop concrete skills, practice new ways of interacting, measure their progress, and build confidence that they can successfully navigate future challenges together.
His ultimate goal is to help couples become independent—equipped with the tools, communication systems, and relationship habits necessary to continue growing long after counseling has concluded.
Don says, “I don't just help couples solve today's problems—I teach them the relationship skills and systems they'll use for the rest of their lives.”
