Community Guidelines

At Charlie’s Place, we strive to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all individuals feel seen, heard, and valued. Our community guidelines are rooted in trauma-informed care, ensuring that we create a space of trust, respect, and empowerment.

1. Safety & Respect

  • We honor each person’s unique experience and perspective.

  • Respect personal space, emotional boundaries, and confidentiality.

  • Harmful or discriminatory language and behavior will not be tolerated.

2. Choice & Autonomy

  • Participation in activities is always by choice.

  • You are encouraged to listen to your needs and engage at your own comfort level.

  • Consent and permission are foundational in all interactions.

3. Compassionate Communication

  • We speak from our own experiences using “I” statements.

  • We listen to understand, not to fix or advise unless invited.

  • Silence is welcomed as part of reflection and healing.

4. Mindful Presence

  • We practice active listening and remain present with one another.

  • Phones and distractions are minimized to honor the shared space.

  • We acknowledge and respect emotions, knowing they are part of the creative and healing process.

5. Community Care & Responsibility

  • We co-create a space where all feel a sense of belonging.

  • If a repair is needed in communication or impact, we approach it with openness and accountability.

  • Each person contributes to the collective care of our space.

  • We collectively contribute to the safety and well-being of all people who enter Charlie's Place.

  • Our words stay within this community of trust.

At Charlie’s Place, we commit to upholding these guidelines to ensure a welcoming and healing environment for all.
