It takes strength and courage to conclude that things aren’t OK right now. Please give yourself credit for having that strength and courage. I invite you to take a few minutes off from your busy day, refocus your awareness from the outside world, and read on. After all, this is your one precious life we’re talking about. Steady, undiluted joy and happiness should not be conditional or a special occasion. If these things are in short supply, now is your time to figure out why and make a change.

After a 15 year business career, at age 43 I decided to pursue my authentic purpose. I love supporting & guiding individuals who are seeking insight and change in their lives as they pursue the healing, self-direction and connectivity needed to build a life that has meaning and value to them. I have 9+ years experience supporting adolescent & adult mental health in a variety of roles and settings.  I began practicing psychotherapy in 2022. Educated and trained at Columbia University and Boston University, I’m certified as a trauma specialist by the Arizona Trauma Institute and I’m trained & certified in neuropsychotherapy & EMDR by Dr. Jennifer Sweeton at Stanford University. I previously worked on a mobile crisis team at the University of Rochester Medical Center, a behavioral pharmacology research team at the University of Chicago Medical Center, and in various other residential & outpatient mental health settings.

I specialize in trauma, depression, bipolar, and anger as well as anxiety, ADHD, substance abuse, and personality difficulties. I offer in-office and telehealth sessions to assess and treat individual adults and adolescents 15+ of all neurotypes, identities, genders, races, politics, and beliefs. Good psychotherapy has changed countless lives and you’ll receive the most effective methods available for your needs.

I care deeply for the people I treat and I work well with individuals who struggle in traditional talk therapy. As a therapist I don’t wear a professional mask. My approach relies on evidence-based tools, but it won’t feel protocoled. The foundation of my approach is schema-focused therapy (SFT). SFT is an advanced psychotherapy method combining key elements of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis, internal family systems (IFS), attachment theory, and emotion-focused therapy. On top of this foundation I may stack neuropsychotherapy methods including memory reconsolidation, narrative exposure therapy (NET), eye movement desensitization & reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness practice. I also sometimes use elements and tools from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), individual components of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and exposure and response prevention (EXRP).

The first contact is the hardest to make because it’s in our nature to avoid difficult things. But avoidance worsens our distress over time. Fortunately, most people experience noticeable relief just taking an initial step forward and scheduling their first appointment. Come as you are. You are welcome here. This is my guarantee that I’m interested in you and your experience no matter what it is. â€‹
